Our Journey:
A Legacy Rooted in Passion
Established in 1878 by the visionary Shri Vishnu Ramchandra Mehendale, H. V. Mehendale & Sons has grown from a modest workshop in Pune into one of India’s most respected musical instrument makers. What began as a passion for crafting fine instruments has blossomed into a thriving family legacy, spanning five generations.
Our Journey:
The Foundation of Excellence
In the late 19th century, Shri Hari Vasudeo Mehendale joined his father in expanding the business, focusing on producing instruments that resonated with musicians both locally and across India. With each passing decade, the Mehendale family introduced new innovations while preserving the essence of traditional craftsmanship.
Our Journey:
A Master’s Dedication to Quality
Shri Krishnarao Mehendale, a “Sangeet Alankar” and master of “Javhari” and instrument tuning, dedicated his life to elevating the business and enhancing the quality of instruments like the harmonium, tabla, and sitar. His commitment to musical perfection cemented our name as a hallmark of quality.
Our Journey:
